Ms. Katz has devoted her legal career to the area of Family Law. Ms. Katz has worked in private practice for the past twenty (20) years, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and compassion to her work. Ms. Katz received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1992, where she was an Associate Editor of Law Review. Ms. Katz is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.

Before entering private practice in 1993, Ms. Katz served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas P. Zampino, J.S.C. (Ret.), Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage, Chancery Division, Family Part. Since 2011, Ms. Katz has been the principal of a boutique law firm in Livingston, New Jersey, which is limited exclusively to the area of Family Law and related matters. In 2013, Ms. Katz also became in-house counsel to an all inclusive treatment facility for behavioral health issues at Destination Hope, Inc., where her unique skill set is utilized to benefit both the staff and patients.

Ms. Katz has also had the privilege of being included on the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers List for Excellence in Practice for 2014 and 2013, and as seen in New Jersey Monthly Magazine; a distinct honor reserved for only the top 5% of attorneys in New Jersey.

Ms. Katz has served as a Panelist for the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel Program in Essex, Morris, Passaic and Union Counties and has lectured at seminars throughout the State of New Jersey, on a wide range of topics related to Family Law issues. Ms. Katz has also been published: “Domestic Partnerships” in Garden State Woman, Vol.7.4, September 2004; and “A Person Is Considered Mentally Defective When Unable To Understand The Sexual Nature Of Specific Behavior Or Incapable Of Exercising Or Comprehending The Right To Refuse Sexual Contact,” Seton Hall Law Review, Vol. Twenty-Two, Number One, 1991.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Katz volunteers her time to various programs and charities that benefit the community at large: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Top Fundraiser; NJ Sharing Network, “Gift of Life” through organ & tissue donation, Supporter; Seton Hall University School of Law, Eugene Gressman Moot Court Competition, Volunteer Judge; Healthy Community-Healthy Youth Initiative of Livingston (HCHY); Livingston High School Mentor Program – Guidance Department Career Information Sessions, Mentor; Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project (BWLAP), Legal Consultation & Representation, Counsel; and the Business & Professional Committee, The American Cancer Society Northwest New Jersey Region, Member.
